365 Cards Day 239 Super Sketchy Sunday

This wasn't a catchup in the sense I did it on the day, but then I couldn't remember where I'd put my camera.... See Day 238 (and Days 228, 224, 206, 118 & 181) for the other cards made with the same 12 sheets of 6"x6" paper. This card is 5"x7", the series of 6 notelets are 5"x4"

I'm not convinced I like it but it follows the sketch....

365 Cards - Day 85 - Super Sketchy Sunday

It's Super Sketchy Sunday! Except it's not because today is Thursday as I'm still catching up. Anyway, the stamp is a free one with a Magazine from Banana someone (can't find the magazine just now in my oh so tidy workroom), the ink is Versacolour Lime and the paper is yellow sugar paper from that bumper bargain Hobbycraft pack. The sentiment is from that set with no name (see posts ibid) with green flock on it that didn't stick as I'd used ink not glue pad - was concentrating on the Giro D'Italia rather than the card..... Does it show? chortle!

365Cards - Day 36 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Whilst I was thinking about Day 39 - Wacky Wednesday's colour way of Purple, Orange & Green, I looked at Crocuses; and after I'd made that card, I made this one with what was left of the dark green Canford paper and 'draft quality' printout of a picture of crocuses which gave a nicely muted colour scheme, although the backing green is slightly less grey in reality.

The sentiment 'Thinking of You' was in Versacolour Lime Green with clear embossing - either I don't know what I'm doing, or it's tricky to get a good ink coverage/ embossing coverage on matt porous paper - probably both!

365 Cards Day 29 Super Sketchy Sunday

I saw today's sketch and it reminded me of early 20th Century Russian avant garde artists like Kasimir Malevich, and their red/black/cream colour schemes. A quick shufty at Google images for Malevich also gave me a layout for an easter card - a skewed cross on an oval or circular background.I imagine fine art purists would seethe at the comparison, but still, that was the inspiration. I'd forgotten how much I hate window mounting, but matting feels like such a waste of paper...Materials used:
Plain black craft paper, a selection of papers from a 'fill this plastic box with paper and get the whole lot for 5GBP' show deal - with flowers & grasses laid into them.

365 Cards Day 1 Sketchy Sunday

I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would, and it was much less scary than I feared. I'm going to try and use my own previously decorated papers as much as I can, and not to buy any new materials..... I really want to reduce the amount of stuff I have in the house before I turn into one of those sad news headlines 'Squashed flat by stash: council workers took 3 days to dig her out' etc, by actually using stuff, rather than throwing or giving it away, and these challenges have got me started!

Materials Used:
-Lining Paper (comes on a big roll, normal people use it on walls as an underpaper, it's really cheap, a nice thickness and takes a good colour soaking before falling to bits) coloured with acrylic paints using handmade sponge & foamboard stamps
-TissueTex (or normal tissuepaper, couldn't quite work out which) probably coloured with Procion MX fabric dyes runoff from a dye batch (you can also use them like powder paints - but use a mask when mixing as they're very fine granules and not great for your lungs).
