I'm in the middle of developing a Valentine's card to sell in my Etsy shop http://www.toothillmedley.etsy.com/. But I'm also keeping my eye on what the design team at 365 Cards are up to these days. And to my delight, the card I've made today fits their Challenge - to make a card that reflects 'Love'
It's a trifold card that fits into a 5" x 7" card's envelope - made of thick white card (that Dutch stuff I bought from the now closed Puffin Crafts that I can't replace) decorated with 9 hearts. The hearts are made from self-decorated paper - 140lb Bockingford Watercolour, drenched on both sides with acrylic paint, then stamped with Versacolour peony, magenta and orange inks with a Tim Holtz heart stamp. No idea which one, I bought it in a sale as a 'standalone' stamp with no packaging.
Here's what the inside looks like:
and the back:
The light's been appalling all day, so it's not the best picture, and the colour values are a bit off, in reality the dark red is pillar box scarlet. The layout is based on a card I did for a 365 Cards challenge way back in April 2009, so it's great to develop it into a second design. It was a bit trickier than the original as the shape isn't symetrical so the paper had to be coloured both sides, and the overlaps show with the hearts. This is the original design with flowers:
I really enjoyed putting it together as I've not made a new design for ages, and the best thing is that I can use it to join in with 365 Cards again, which I've not done for far too long. Go and see what they're up to at http://365cards.blogspot.com/
I think it looks brilliant. Well done!
